Rev. Dr. Karen Lebacqz

A minister in the United Church of Christ (UCC), Rev. Dr. Karen Lebacqz has been on the Pacific School of Religion faulty as a professor of ethics for over 30 years. Her life-long commitment to issues of social justice takes shape in three primary areas of writing and teaching: professional ethics, bioethics (especially questions around genetics and the Human Genome Project), and ethical theory (particularly justice and questions of method in ethics). Serving on numerous national, State of California, and corporate commissions and boards, Rev. Lebacqz will serve as "Bioethicist-in-Residence" at Yale University following her Chautauqua visit.
