Jerry Pubantz is Professor of Political Science. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from Duke University and his undergraduate degree in foreign service from Georgetown University. He is the co-author or editor of four books on the United Nations. His most recent volume, Is There a Global Right to Democracy? A Philosophical Analysis of Peacekeeping and Nation Building,was published in 2012. Dr. Pubantz teaches courses on International Organization, American foreign policy, Middle East politics, the politics of globalization, and international relations. He appears regularly on television and radio to discuss international affairs and American politics. He is a member of the Middle East Policy Council’s National Advisory Board, a former President of the North Carolina Political Science Association, the co-founder of the Southern Association of Pre-law Advisers, and the former Chairman of the National Collegiate Conference Association, corporate sponsor of the National Model United Nations in New York City. His articles have appeared in Politics and Policy, the International Encyclopedia of Political Science, ArabiesTrends, Social Forces, and the Turkish Journal of International Relations amount other periodicals.
