Ronald Cole-Turner is the H. Parker Sharp Professor of Theology and Ethics at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, a position which relates theology and ethics to developments in science and technology. He is an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ and chairs the UCC committee on genetics. He serves on the Advisory Board of the John Templeton Foundation and on the Advisory Board (Executive Committee) of the Program of Dialogue Between Science and Religion of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Prof. Cole-Turner is the author of The New Genesis: Theology and the Genetic Revolution (1993), the co-author (with Brent Waters) of Pastoral Genetics: Theology and Care at the Beginning of Life (1996), and the editor of Human Cloning: Religious Responses (1997). He is also the author of the popular baptism hymn, "Child of Blessing, Child of Promise." He and his wife, Rebecca, have two daughters, Sarah and Rachel.
